Sequels often get a tough time. If the original game was superb, can the sequel live up to it? If not, who would want to try another version of it anyway?
Those are some of the questions we had in mind as we got ready to review the new game release, Butterflies II. We are going to review this on its own merits, just as you should with every game. But what did we find out about it?
Developer details you ought to know
If you remember the original game, you may already realize this version is from WGS, just as the original was.
Get underway with some demo action
There is no better way to work out whether you like a game than to load the demo and try that. Without risking losing any cash, it gives you time to focus on the game features.
Another butterfly-filled theme
When something is mentioned so clearly in a title, you cannot argue with the theme of the game. We could say this one takes on a garden element too, since that is where the action happens here.
The Butterflies II slot game design
Is it a good one? Yes, even though we feel it could have been even better with 3D graphics. WGS isn’t known for 3D games though, so it wasn’t a surprise to find them absent here too.
What should you expect to see in Butterflies II?
You should be ready for five reels with three rows of symbols to watch as the game begins. You shouldn’t expect any progressive prizes, however.
The two most important symbols are labeled as WILD and SCATTER symbols in this slot. The wild displays a cocoon and appears only on the first reel. That’s not as bad as it sounds though, as there is something else to look forward to that involves this icon. We’ll move onto that in a moment.
The scatter is a flower and is used in the normal manner to trigger prizes when enough of these icons show up on a spin.
Does the game use paylines?
It does, yes, and there are 25 of those to cover with your bets.
How many coin values are there?
You can choose from many different coins. The slot does qualify for penny slot status as that is the cheapest coin of all. You can go a lot higher until you reach the $10 maximum as well.
Paytable info for this slot game
The floral colors are so bright here, we almost thought there was just one page to this paytable. There are controls at the bottom of the page if you look for them though. It just might take a second to find them.
One bonus element to look for… and it’s wild
There’s a clue for you! We told you that the wild symbol only appeared on reel one. That’s true, but while that’s the case, it doesn’t stay that way.
If a wild drops into one of the available spots on the first reel, anything you’ve won is calculated and paid out. After that, the butterfly hatches from the cocoon or house shown on the wild symbol.
As it flies around for the first time, it may land on any of the other symbols on the reels. The game does this randomly and may therefore give one or more additional wilds anywhere else on the screen. If these unlock more wins, those are granted before the game begins again.
Free spins? Not in this slot
No free spins and no respins either.
RTP: Return to player info
We do not have this as no such info appears alongside the other game info.
How good is Butterflies II?
This is not a complex slot. However, it still carries a good feature with it. The wild butterfly is good to watch when it happens. With no other special elements involved though, it’s hard to rank this any higher than 7/10.
Potential prizes on offer in this game
The most you can do in this medium volatility game is to get 3,000x your bet. That is possible with five butterfly icons as shown on the paytable, all appearing on the same line you placed a bet on. You’d get 3,000x your line bet in that case.
Will you try the practice version?
You should as it is the only way to see if this game does give you what you’re looking for in a garden-based slot game.
