They added in some flare here and there, but that’s the gist, as seen through the lens of an enthusiastic fan that clearly doesn’t know too much about the culture itself. It’s right on the line of racism in the same way Chris Farley’s films played with the theme. The whole thing is akin to seeing a Western take on an Asian genre that becomes an unintentional spoof of what may have otherwise been an entirely mundane slot that held no interest for more than a minute.
Presentation
Wataa Slots isn’t all that pretty. It’s largely a reskin that was slapped together around a funny theme. It’s still fun for that reason, as it’s akin to a B Movie making you laugh when you can see the wires on the actors as they do their karate moves.
There is clear evidence of copy and paste afoot here, which we’re not a fan of, but it’s admittedly not as bad as some of the other games in this genre. Still, it gets to you, unless you’re on a winning streak.
Mechanics
Gameplay in Wataa Slots is very standard. The rest isn’t which makes for an odd combination. It’s 5 reels and 25 pay lines with many a jackpot and the usual fixings. Bets are a penny all the way up to $10, making this on the mid range on that front.
