Like a haunted house that tried too hard, Trick or Treat Slots is a Halloween themed slot with a generic name that manages to be wonderful in most respects but still kinda creeps the hell out of us. It pays and plays well, however, so we put up with the spookiness. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with it, mostly wishing that we weren’t such wimps when it came to scary things.
If you have spare time, love Hot Topic and all things creepy, then you can do a lot worse than to invest it in Trick or Treat Slots. It looks and plays great, and we can mostly think of faulty it only for issues specific to our tastes.
If you’re reading this review, stop! Skip it and give Trick or Treat Slots a spin. If not, keep going and we’ll figure this one out together, just like old times.
Premise of Trick or Treat Slots
We hope everyone knows right off the bat that the premise of Trick or Treat Slots is Halloween. And spooky stuff. Did we mention there’s a pumpkin? It’s the usual holiday mix here, only well done and legitimately scary.
Presentation in Trick or Treat Slots
We think the graphics in Trick or Treat Slots are great. Everything is crisp, clear, colorful, and compelling to look at, which makes your time spent playing all the easier because of how easy they are on the eyes. They have a wonderful look to them that shows a lot of time went into the rendering, and don’t at all feel borrowed to cheap. There’s nary a pixel out of place here, which we commend them for. We just wish we were less wusses when it came to scary things.
Gameplay Mechanics in Trick or Treat Slots
Akin to what the holiday itself has become, gameplay in Trick or Treat Slots is standard. At 3 reels and 1 pay lines, it does not break the mold there, chosing instead to keep things classy in ways we can respect.
There aren’t any bonus features to speak of, but there aren’t usually anyway in games that attempt that.
Betting here ranges from 10 pennies to $10, making this an accessible slot that anyone can jump into in hopes of winning a lot of money without worrying about necessarily breaking the bank in the process. Max bets cap out at $30, which tends to be how we rolled when we played it a bunch for our review. It’s not much, but it’ll do.
